Gods Waiting Children in NWA
There are currently 500 of God’s waiting children in Arkansas, and sadly this number continues to grow each day. Each of these children dream of a home filled with unconditional love and understanding.
The NWA Adoption Coalition is working to fulfill this dream.
In NWA we currently have approximately 19 children waiting on their forever home. These children do offer challenges, and carry baggage, so much of which is not of their own, but of what the past life that they have lived in generously gave them. Currently there are approx 300 children in NWA (4 County area) in Foster care, we have approx. 100 open Foster parent homes.
There are never to be more than 8 children in a home, which includes any biological children that the foster parents may have. The need for Foster Parents, and adoptive parents is overwhelming. If you would like to become a foster parent, please contact Elaine Dowdy at 479-442-4029. If you feel a call to become an adoptive parent for and older child contact Norine Pippin at 479-273-9011 ext 117.
I would like to encourage you to adopt these children in prayer. We all know the wonderful works of our Heavenly Father and that he does answers prayers!

Arkansas Heart Galleries to be on Display at State Capitol
March 9-13 in the Rotunda. The Gov. Beebe is expected to have a press conference on Monday. Please stop by and view the wonderful children that are waiting for a forever home. Dawn Reed will be in Little Rock on Monday March 9 to host the Gallery for the day and answer any questions that you might have regarding the Heart Gallery of NWA.
UPDATE:
The Heart Gallery display at the Capitol was a success. The purpose of this showing was to let our Senate and House see the faces of the children in Arkansas who are longing for a forever home. The Governor made an appearance and spoke with myself and Alicen Bennett briefly. Later in the week the Heart Gallery Volunteers were asked to the floor of the House for recognition of the efforts being made to help the states waiting children.
NWA Waiting Children Painting Tiles
NWA Waiting Children painted tiles for the Seven Hills Tile Project to be placed in the Pinnacle Hills Promonde Mall. The children were told to paint tiles regarding what makes Americal beautiful to them. The Rotary Club sponsored the children in this project. The children had fun, and did a beautiful job!

The NWA Adoption Coalition won the Adoption Excellence Award for 2008 presented by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. There were a total of 20 awardees. The award was presented to Dawn Reed- Chair of the NWA Adoption Coalition in Washington DC on October 21. The award ceremony took place during a luncheon held at the Holiday Inn Washington Capitol, Washington DC.
This was a great honor! The coalition was nominated by Pat Page, previously employed in Little Rock with the Department of children and family services. Alicen Bennett accompanied Mrs. Reed to the banquet. The award was presented to the Coalition for all that they have done in the community since May of 2006 to get the community aware of the children that are available for adoption in NWA and all that the coalition does to assist the children that are awaiting their forever home.
